Here are some figures presented by another Guardian reader about the differences between the lockdown in Greece and the UK.

How the UK government can claim to be proud of what it's done during the crisis, I really don't know.

Reminder: the lockdown was introduced the same day in Greece and in the UK (23 March 2020).

That day Greece had 17 covid-deaths, the UK 336.

20 times more. (UK's population is only 6x bigger)

Result:

Total cases in Greece today : 2,980

Total cases in the UK today: 300,000 = 100 times more than Greece

Total deaths in Greece today : 180

Total deaths in the UK today: 40,465 (50,000, 60,000?) = 3000 TIMES MORE THAN GREECE
